Bono is still a star – the sunglasses prove it
“It’s part vanity, part privacy and part sensitivity.” So said rock legend and U2 front man Bono, back in 2005, when he explained to Rolling Stone magazine why he’s never seen without his trademark Emporio Armani designer sunglasses.
By sensitivity he’s referring to light intensity as well as emotional angst. Bono is well known for his tireless charity work, but he also has a medical problem which makes his eyes go red and swell up if he gets so much as a sniff of a flashbulb.
