Sharon Stone is no stranger to making fashion statements – before she became an actress she was a top fashion model. This was clearly in evidence as she recently took time out for a touch of retail therapy in Beverley Hills. Pictured on the 18th August shopping in Rodeo Drive, her all-black outfit of jeans and long-sleeved top was lifted by a long silver necklace, pillar-box red shoulder bag, and oversized Dior designer sunglasses.
It’s hard to believe the Basic Instinct star turned 52 this year – Sharon’s stylish, casual approach to fashion knocks at least 10 years off her age. Then again, by covering up and wearing large-rimmed Dior sunglasses, she is wisely protecting herself from the most aging influence of all – the intense California sunshine. Also available as prescription sunglasses, the entire Dior range are generously sized to give maximum protection from ultraviolet rays. They are also available with an anti-glare coating for extra comfort.
Dior designer sunglasses are always creatively styled, with chic retro lines that hark back to the Hollywood fifties and sixties. The sunglasses Sharon Stone sported were from the Bagatelle range. With a slight upward and outward sweep that is less pronounced than their Diorzelli and Diormitza models, they are reminiscent of the popular Diorette in shape – one of the few frameless sunglasses Dior produce. But there are elements of Diorcocotte and Symbol in there too.
Many celebrity sunglasses are too “OTT” for the average girl – or glam mum – in the street to wear. Dior cross this line perfectly, with a wide variety of styles and colours to suit every face shape and skin tone.
